The Big Give 2024

English National Ballet are taking part in The Big Give 2024 in support of this fantastic programme, which has grown steadily since its launch in 2022.

What is Ballet Futures?

ENB commits to representation within the classical ballet landscape and reflecting the world we live in through our dancers. Through Ballet Futures: The Pipeline Project, we work with our partner schools around the country to remove socio-economic barriers, enabling access to ballet for underrepresented groups. We aim to champion young dancers, enrich our art form and benefit the community at large.

“Ballet Futures is a unique opportunity both to nurture young talent and, we hope, to effect real change in the classical ballet landscape in the long term. Representation in professional and educational artistic contexts is important on many levels: reflecting the world in which we live, resonating with audiences, providing tangible inspiration for the artists of the future, and enriching the artform we all love.”
Aaron S. Watkin, Artistic Director of ENB

The programme supports young dancers by providing free weekly ballet training, and financial support for uniform and dance supplies. The Ballet Future Dancers are also given the opportunity to engage with ENB artists and industry representatives, through Experience Days at the Mulryan Centre for Dance, the home of ENB.  Two special visits are made to our five partnering schools each year, to deliver repertoire and ballet history sessions to all pupils, as we strive to extend our work beyond the students participating in the programme.

As the programme continues to grow and expand, your help is needed to help us reach more young dancers from underrepresented groups and provide them with the much-needed opportunities to realise their full potential.

How will my donation help?

Your gift, whatever the size, will make a real difference. Any donation made via The Big Give website (up to a total of £25,000), will be doubled. This means that, for one week only, your donation will go twice as far. All donations – big and small – are gratefully received.

£800 will support the tuition fee of one Ballet Futures Dancer for a year

£380 will support uniform and dance supplies for one Ballet Futures Dancer for the year

£120 will support a Ballet Futures Dancer to watch an ENB performance in London, as part of their experience-based training
