Nutcracker Delights

KS1/ KS2/ KS3

This Christmas head to the land of Sweets & Delight to discover our magical Nutcracker, with mischievous mice and sparkling snowflakes…

Pupils will develop their dance skills and coordination as well as building their self-confidence, creativity and artistic expression in this fun-filled creative ballet workshop led by a Dance Artist and Musician from English National Ballet’s Engagement team.

Pupils will gain an insight into the production of Nutcracker, have the opportunity to see a performance and *to meet a Dancer from English National Ballet.

What’s involved?

  • One and a half hour creative ballet workshop
  • Up to 30 pupils depending on the capacity of the hall/gym space
  • Led by a Dance Artist and Musician from English National Ballet
  • See English National Ballet’s Nutcracker at the London Coliseum on either: 17 December / 8 January (Relaxed Performance) 1pm / or 18 December at 2:30pm
  • Explore items of costume from the production and meet a Company Dancer*

Giselle Reimagined

KS3/KS4

East London Schools

Explore the choreographic language, themes and concepts behind Akram Khan’s acclaimed re-imagining of Giselle for English National Ballet. This half day workshop develops students’ creativity, artistry and choreographic skills, broadening creative thinking, knowledge, skills and appreciation.

Students will explore Akram Khan’s Giselle, including the choreographic language, production elements, context and narrative. Khan takes the structure of the 19th century original classical Giselle and adapts it for a contemporary audience.

What’s involved?

  • Half day workshop (2.5hrs)
  • Recommended 26 students (max. 30) depending on the capacity of the hall/gym space
  • Access to digital interactive KS3-4 resources
  • Provision of Continuing Professional Development for teachers
  • See English National Ballet’s Akram Khan’s Giselle at the London Coliseum Friday 16 January 2026, 2pm

Body & Soul – Unmasked

KS4 / KS5 / Vocational Schools 

Resonating with young emerging artists of today, this workshop introduces students to the genre and style of Crystal Pite and Kameron N. Saunders enabling students to creatively explore the choreographic language and intention of the works, to develop their own dances exploring dynamics, connection and artistic expression with opportunities for self-reflection and discussion. This workshop can be tailored for students studying GCSE/ A Level Dance/ Vocational level/ equivalent.

Inspired by English National Ballet’s upcoming performances of Body & Soul, two resonant premieres from Crystal Pite and Kameron N. Saunders that go to the very core of human experience.

What’s involved?

  • Full day workshop
  • Recommended up to 20 students KS4/5 for an in-depth experience
  • See English National Ballet’s Body & Soul at Sadler’s Wells Theatre, Thursday 26 March at 2:30pm
  • Hear from Company Creatives and find out more about the life of a professional dancer
