Soon, we will be moving to a new building on London City Island, together with English National Ballet School. As the fit-out nears its end, here is a look at the beautiful new spaces we will occupy next season.

Our new home is based in one of London’s newest neighbourhoods, London City Island, a short walk from Canning Town in East London. It has been purpose-built for us and our School: at 93,000 square feet, it is four times the size of our current buildings.

The facilities will transform how we work and, in the words of our Artistic Director Tamara Rojo, they”give us unprecedented space to develop world-class artists and create outstanding ballet, which we will share with more people than ever before”.

The five-storey building include seven state of the art, full-sized rehearsal studios (pictured below).

Our building will also include a large production studio (pictured below) with a fly-tower where we can rehearse productions with full set and lighting.

It is also large enough to enable us to rehearse our large-scale in-the-round productions too.

As well as these amazing spaces, the building will include:

  • A costume workshop, with dye room and shoe room
  • Two learning and engagement spaces
  • An hydrotherapy pool, gym and pilates studio for the well-being of our dancers
  • A green room and spacious dancer changing rooms, with separate public changing rooms
  • Generous public access with café and exhibition space

The School will also have their own lecture theatre, rehabilitation facilities, gym and green room.

You can support us and our work by making a donation towards the essential finishing touches we need to make each new space work. Join in and help us make this extraordinary new building a creative hub for current and future generations.
