English National Ballet’s home is named AJ100 Building of the Year
Tamara Rojo, Artistic Director of English National Ballet, accepted the award on behalf of English National Ballet and Glenn Howells Architects on Thursday 17 September.
English National would like to thank AJ100 for this great honour, and offer our warmest congratulations and thanks to Glenn Howells Architects.

Tamara Rojo described her vision for the Company’s new home as “a space where imaginations could be ignited, and where everybody would be welcome.” The state-of-the-art building not only houses the Company and staff, but provides a creative hub for the local community in east London, from which a wide range of classes, events and educational and community programmes will be facilitated.
“What I wanted for the Company was a space where we could create, where we could have freedom, and where we could share our ambition and we could connect with the local community”, Tamara said.

English National Ballet’s new home signifies a new chapter in the Company’s diverse and distinguished history and brings with it a new and invigorated commitment to our founding mission: to bring world class ballet to as many people as possible, wherever they are and whatever their means.
