Body & Soul

Overview

Two soul-stirring premieres from Crystal Pite and Kameron N. Saunders.

How do we interpret the world around us – in our bodies and in our minds? This bold programme explores the very core of the human experience.

The UK premiere of Body and Soul (Part 1) from acclaimed choreographer Crystal Pite, originally created for Paris Opera Ballet, is a hypnotic reflection on grief and our resulting conflicting impulses. Dancers morph from intimate duets to surging crowds, weaving precision and fluidity into mesmerising waves of movement.

Kameron N. Saunders has built a huge following as a commercial dancer for some of the world’s biggest artists, including Taylor Swift and Chappell Roan. He is also a prize-winning choreographer.

Inspired by personal experience, Saunders’ world premiere explores the search for authenticity under society’s gaze. Set to a new score by Harold Walker III and Brandon Finklea, performed live by English National Ballet Philharmonic.
