Carmen was born in Murcia, Spain and received her training with Jose Antonio Robles and then with the Carmina Ocaña Ballet School in Madrid. Carmen has danced in several European companies including Zürich Ballet, English National Ballet and joined the Semperoper Ballett in 2006 where she was then promoted to a soloist. Since 2008, Carmen has been a guest ballet teacher in many different dance companies throughout Europe. From 2016, she was Ballet Master with the Semperoper Ballett, and joined Birmingham Royal Ballet in 2021 as Repetiteur. In 2023, she joined English National Ballet as Repetiteur.
