Home / Exciting new initiative between English National Ballet and English National Ballet School
From September, third year students from the School will join the Company every Saturday for class, to observe rehearsals and take part in training for the roles they will be dancing in ENB’s classical full-lengths that season.
Aaron S. Watkin, English National Ballet’s Artistic Director, said: “It is hugely exciting to have English National Ballet School students with us on Saturdays. I’m pleased we can offer the students this unique opportunity to experience first hand what the life of a professional dancer is, and in turn we have the opportunity to get to know them better to consider them for future employment.”
Lynne Charles, English National Ballet School’s Artistic Director said: “As part of my artistic vision for ENBSchool I am so happy to begin this collaboration with Aaron Watkin and the ENB Company. Together we want to build connections, foster mentorship and see talent flow from the School to the Company. I look forward to an exciting journey.”
“Lynne Charles and I share a common artistic vision for dance”, added Watkin, “and I look forward to an exciting new chapter together, further strengthening the bonds between English National Ballet and English National Ballet School.”
