Orlene is the Head of Community at BADU COMMUNITY, an East London based social impact organisation that focuses on systems change to tackle inequalities communities experience by connecting pathways through education, workforce, sport, physical activity and health.
As a Race Equity consultant she works with a range of organisations, schools, educators, local authorities and companies to ensure systems change in which all succeed. Her previous experience as a headteacher in a primary school in inner city East London has also ensured her foundation in education, community and understanding of communities in the East of London and wider.
This experience has been foundational in her commitment to ensuring that all children and young people are given the tools, opportunities and access to thrive. As an UCL Centre for Engineering Education Associate she is able to follow her passion of access and progress for all. She is also the author of the book entitled, “How To Build Your Antiracist Classroom’. As a mum of a ballet dancer, she is passionate about the power of Dance and the importance of access and opportunities for all communities.
