Dance for Dementia in London

Overview

Experience the joy of our Dance for Dementia classes, which are specifically designed for people living with Dementia, their families, friends and carers.

Our dance classes, accompanied by live music, are designed to engage the body and mind. They are inspired by ballet and contemporary dance techniques and include seated and standing exercises for all abilities. Led by our experienced team of Associate Artists, classes are supported by a team of volunteers.

Social time with refreshments follows the practical dance classes.

All ages and experience levels are welcome.

Class Dates

Weekly classes take place on Monday mornings, between 11am – 12:30pm, on the following dates:

Schedule

Arrival and sign in – 10:30am – 10:50am
Head to studio – 10:50am – 11:00am
Practical Dance Class – 11:00am – 12:00pm
Refreshments – 12:00pm – 12:30pm

Location

Classes will be held in-person at English National Ballet, Mulryan Centre for Dance, 41 Hopewell Square, London, E14 0SY.

The Mulryan Centre for Dance is a dementia friendly building, accredited by the Mayor of London and Alzheimer’s Society. Throughout the building there is dementia friendly signage recommended by the Alzheimer’s Society.

There are multiple blue badge spaces on the island for drop off or parking. English National Ballet also has access to car parking spaces in a car park behind our building. If you require a space, please let us know and we can allocate you one.

The nearest tube station is Canning Town, that runs on the DLR and Jubilee tube lines.

£40 for the 10-week term

You are welcome to bring a friend, family member or carer free of charge.
