Filmed by award winning Michael Nunn & William Trevitt

In 2016, English National Ballet became the first UK company in 60 years to perform on the Palais Garnier stage. Filmed by Michael Nunn & William Trevitt, this 60-minute documentary follows the Company as it prepares to make history with its performances of Le Corsaire on this world-renowned stage.

The Palais Garnier is hallowed ground for ballet dancers because, since 1875, it’s been the home of Paris Opera Ballet – the oldest national ballet company in the world, whose origins go back to the very start of ballet’s history, under Louis XIV.

As a big-scale spectacle with stunning decor and costumes, lots of great roles and set pieces for our dancers to shine, and an action-packed storyline, our production of the classic three-act ballet Le Corsaire is the perfect fit for this iconic stage.

A film by Michael Nunn and William Trevitt.
