Dance for Dementia: Call out for Volunteers
English National Ballet is looking for helpful and friendly volunteers to join our Dance for Dementia programme in East London. Dance for Dementia classes support people living with Dementia to enjoy dance classes accompanied by live music, and share a creative experience with their families, loved ones and carers.
Volunteers are an integral part of the team, and their support is essential to the smooth running and success of ENB’s Dance for Dementia programme.
We are looking to recruit individuals for two volunteer roles; Welcome Volunteers and Dance Volunteers. All volunteers will receive relevant training and guidance.
Welcome Volunteer
The role of a welcome volunteer includes greeting participants on arrival, helping to set up the studio space, taking part in the practical session, supporting participation, and socialising post-class over refreshments. Whatever your experience or background, we would like to hear from you.
Dance Volunteer
As the dance volunteer you will take an active role within the dance classes, providing assistance to enable participants to take part as fully as possible. Dance Volunteers will encourage group motivation, offer ways to adapt the exercises as necessary, and assist participants on a one-to-one basis. Dance experience is preferred, but not required.
Location and dates:
Classes run at English National Ballet’s world-class studios, the Mulryan Centre for Dance in Canning Town. We are looking for volunteers to join our classes in the Autumn term 2024.
Mondays, 23 September to 2 December, 10am – 1pm
We ask for a commitment of at least 50% of the classes, to establish a community of trust in the sessions.
What are you waiting for? Come and be a volunteer on ENB’s Dance for Dementia programme! Please complete our online form to register your interest by Friday 13 September 2024.
