Watch Party: Romeo & Juliet

6 - 8 May
2 hours 20 mins

Join us for our third Wednesday Watch Party on 6 May at 7pm BST: we’ll be watching Rudolf Nureyev’s production of Romeo & Juliet on Facebook and YouTube.

The ballet will remain online until Friday 8 May 8pm BST.

Sumptuous costumes and sets transport you to Renaissance Verona, its piazza bustling with market traders, street entertainers and the restless factions of the Capulet and Montague families.

Amidst the grandeur of the Capulet’s ball, our star-crossed lovers – Alina Cojocaru and Isaac Hernández – meet, unleashing a fateful sequence of events, from the romantic bedroom scene to their tragic final embrace.

Created for the Company in 1977 to celebrate the Queen’s Silver Jubilee, this blazing ballet features Rudolf Nureyev’s passionate choreography and Prokofiev’s evocative score, performed live by English National Ballet Philharmonic.

Recorded at The Bristol Hippodrome in 2015 as part of English National Ballet’s annual Autumn UK Tour.
