English National Ballet School was founded in 1988 by English National Ballet to provide talented young dancers with the highest quality of training.
Today the School exists as a separate entity but maintains strong links with its parent company, sharing its commitment to quality, accessibility and cultural diversity. As one of the top schools for the training of classical ballet at senior level, English National Ballet School has produced countless dancers who now work in leading international ballet companies around the world.
Currently a third of the dancers at English National Ballet, ranking from corps de ballet to Principal, received their training here. The three year, full time course provides a world class, comprehensive training in ballet, within a broader education allowing students to acquire personal and professional life skills.
The focus of the third year is professional performance experience with opportunities to perform with English National Ballet at the Coliseum and on tour and in our apprenticeship company ENB2 - a joint venture with English National Ballet which sees the graduating students become a company in their own right, delivering performances to audiences in London and all over the UK, to high critical acclaim.
The School also offers opportunities to young aspiring dancers. ENBS Juniors provides high quality weekly ballet classes for children from
pre-school age and the Short Course programme offers opportunities to young dancers wishing to enter professional training, ranging from one day workshops to week long courses.
English National Ballet School is the only vocational ballet school to have consistently achieved Outstanding by the UK Schools inspectorate (Ofsted) since inspections began in 2002.
