ENGLISH NATIONAL BALLET ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF THE EMERGING DANCER COMPETITION 2014

English National Ballet is pleased to announce both Junor Souza and Alison McWhinney, as joint winners of the prestigious Emerging Dancer Competition 2014. Alison and Junor performed the pas de deux from Esmeralda. Junor, who performed Last Minute, also won the People’s Choice Award.

IWM NORTH PRESENTS SECOND BREATH WITH ENGLISH NATIONAL BALLET TO MARK FIRST WORLD WAR CENTENARY

A unique, one-night-only performance by English National Ballet will be performed at IWM North, part of Imperial War Museums, to mark the First World War Centenary. The piece has been specially created by award-winning, internationally acclaimed British choreographer Russell Maliphant.

ENGLISH NATIONAL BALLET DANCERS SHOW THEIR SKILLS AS CHOREOGRAPHERS

Dancers from English National Ballet demonstrate their skills as choreographers in the Company’s annual programme, Choreographics, which this year takes place at The Pit, Barbican on May 22-24. Four dancers from the Company have been selected to create new works inspired by texts about the First World War.

ALBAN LENDORF TO DANCE AS GUEST ARTIST IN ENGLISH NATIONAL BALLET'S COPPÉLIA

Alban Lendorf, principal dancer at The Royal Danish Ballet, is to appear as Guest Artist in English National Ballet’s upcoming production of Coppélia when he will dance the role of Franz to Tamara Rojo’s Swanilda.

NATASHA KAPLINSKY TO HOST 2014 EMERGING DANCER COMPETITION ALONGSIDE NEW JUDGING PANEL

English National Ballet is pleased to announce the Emerging Dancer Competition 2014 will be hosted by Natasha Kaplinsky, with tickets now on sale. The Competition, generously supported in its fifth year by Talbot Hughes McKillop (THM), will be held on Monday 19 May 2014, at the Lyceum Theatre.

AKRAM KHAN AND TAMARA ROJO TO DANCE TOGETHER ON CLOSING NIGHT OF LEST WE FORGET, FULL PRINCIPAL CASTING ANNOUNCED

English National Ballet today reveals full principal casting for Lest We Forget which includes the announcement that Akram Khan and Tamara Rojo will dance together on closing night (Saturday 12th April). This is in addition to performances on Wednesday 2nd April and both the matinee and evening performances on Thursday 3rd April.

ROMEO & JULIET IN-THE-ROUND

Raymond Gubbay and the Royal Albert Hall present English National Ballet at the Royal Albert Hall in June 2014, with Derek Deane’s breath-taking production of Romeo and Juliet - the world’s greatest love story. Tamara Rojo and Carlos Acosta will perform in the lead roles, accompanied by a company of dancers, actors and sword fighters, this epic staging of Shakespeare's timeless tragedy is set in-the-round.

DARIA KLIMENTOVA FAREWELL PERFORMANCES IN ROMEO & JULIET AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL

Daria Klimentová, English National Ballet Lead Principal and one of the most respected and accomplished stars of classical ballet, has announced she will retire after dancing the role of Juliet at the Royal Albert Hall in June. Vadim Muntagirov, with whom she has formed one of the most admired ballet partnerships of modern times, will return to the Company to play Romeo in Derek Deane’s spectacular production of Romeo & Juliet in-the-round.
