Call for dancers to participate in a taster workshop for ENBYouthCo.
English National Ballet is inviting young dancers between the ages of 14-19 years to participate in a taster workshop aimed at recruiting dancers for its Youth Dance Company. The Company promotes innovation, personal creativity and commitment, whilst focusing on the development of each participant’s potential.
Launched in April 2012, ENBYouthCo meets on Friday evenings at Markova House. Since its inception, the company has gone from strength to strength performing at a number of locations and events across London. Previous performances have included Cameron McMillan’s Kinetic Echo for Big Dance 2014, Wayne McGregor's Big Dance Trafalgar Square 2012, ReFresh at The Place, Emerging Dancer at the Clore Ballroom, Richdance, Roehampton University’s dance festival and in Petrushka with the main company at the London Coliseum.
Previous company dancers have been successful in securing places at Rambert School, London School of Contemporary Dance, Northern Ballet, Tring Park and Central School of Ballet.
The workshops will take place on Monday 27 July from 5pm – 8pm*, and Wednesday 29 July from 10am – 1pm at English National Ballet studios, Markova House, 39 Jay Mews, London, SW7 2ES. It is necessary to attend just one of these dates.
*Please note that the time of this workshop has changed.
Dancers from the taster workshops who are offered a place will be invited to be part of a summer residency from the 10-14 August. Autumn term will commence in September.
We are interested to hear from dancers with both ballet and contemporary experience.
You must register your place by Friday 24 July 2015.
