We are delighted to announce a further significant partnership for the development of our national programme. Our third full regional programme will be offered in partnership with DanceEast  starting in October 2014. DanceEast is the curator of the Jerwood DanceHouse, the home of dance in the East of England. DanceEast’s programme embraces the artistic, educational, social and recreational roles that dance plays in the local and national arts ecology and Dance for Parkinson’s connects with their commitment to celebrating diversity, championing excellence and providing access to all.

Dance for Parkinson’s at DanceEast brings a unique new opportunity for people with Parkinson’s in Ipswich and the surrounding areas to engage with high quality dance classes in the professional environment of the dance studio. Carers, friends and family are invited to join in with weekly artistic and creative dance classes which have the added benefits of improved mental and physical health and wellbeing, the chance for social interaction with like-minded people and most importantly, provide a fun and energising activity suitable for all.

Trips to the theatre are a key part of our Dance for Parkinson’s programme and help give context to the exercises learnt in our classes. We offer participants exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the Company and presentations by members of Wardrobe and Orchestra before attending English National Ballet performances at the local theatre.

English National Ballet’s regional programme in Ipswich will begin in October 2014 with an introductory package including two open taster sessions and an exclusive theatre visit to see an English National Ballet performance. This will provide a special chance to find out more about our work, ahead of the weekly class programme which will take place at DanceEast in Ipswich, starting in February 2015.
