Weekly classes, Wednesdays 3pm – 5pm

Spring term, Wednesday 27 January – Wednesday 30 March 2016
at DanceEast Wellbeing Studio, Jerwood DanceHouse, Foundry Lane, Ipswich, Suffolk IP4 1DW

Classes are £6 per person per session, including carers, family members or guests. Drop-ins are very welcome.

For Spring 2016 English National Ballet’s Dance for Parkinson’s programme will be exploring the themes from English National Ballet’s new triple bill She Said , featuring new work created by world-class female choreographers: Aszure Barton, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa and Yabin Wang.

Excitingly this is only the second time in the programme’s 5 year history that Dance for Parkinson’s classes have explored repertoire that is yet to be made, and classes will draw upon the wealth of creative inspiration including behind these new works:

Strong female figures through history (including Frida Kahlo and Euripides mythological character of Medea)

Chinese dance and Eastern influence on the staging and movement style

Ancient Greek mythology

The Dance for Parkinson’s artists have researched the choreographers, collaborators and themes and will each present their own artistic interpretations whilst encouraging participants to contribute their own ideas themselves. Each class will interpret the concepts differently and we can’t wait to see how it evolves.
