Ballets Russes

English National Ballet celebrates the centenary of the Ballets Russes with performances of some of the troupe’s great works. Ballets Russes productions were collaborations with major choreographers, composers, artists and dancers of the time including Pavlova, Picasso, Debussy, Chanel, Matisse and Nijinsky.

Highlights include quintessential Ballets Russes ballets Les Sylphides, Le Spectre de la Rose, Schéhérazade and The Dying Swan. The performances also showcase Faun(e), a re-imagining of Nijinsky's L'après-midi d'un Faune by internationally acclaimed choreographer David Dawson.

English National Ballet and The Australian Ballet have direct lineage from the original Ballets Russes, and we are delighted that for this season the Company will be joined by guest artists from The Australian Ballet for performances of Le Spectre de la Rose.
