While most of the dancers (plus extras) are rehearsing at 3 Mills studios, the principals have been left behind to prepare for the main roles in Swan Lake. Guest teachers, Thomas Edur and Agnes Oaks have been directing guests, Friedemann Vogel and Sofiane Sylve for their four appearances, including opening night at the Royal Albert Hall.
With three weeks to go, wardrobe have sent the 60 swan tutus to be attached to their bodices. Those that are ready early will be used in a photoshoot on London's Millenium Bridge at 6.00am next week, an early morning our swans are not looking forward to! -Check again next week for the photo.
This weekend six of our dancers head to the Hay festival to perform at the cast and crew party on behalf of tour sponsors, Skyarts. The dancers will perform a twist on classical ballet using jazz and rock music as their inspiration for freestyling. I hope they don't go overboard as the stage is only 4ft wide!
p.s. a new dancer arrived from the Kirov this week, Anton Lukovkin. Keep checking the first artist's page to get the first glimpse!
