Camp Bestival
Ballet workshops, competitions, a performance of Angelina Ballerina's Big Audition and fireworks were some of the things English National Ballet got up to at Camp Bestival, read about the Big Top experience here.
English National Ballet went down a storm at Camp Bestival over the weekend of 24/25/26 July. The festival, baby sister of Bestival organised by Radio 1 DJ Rob Da Bank, is set in the stunning grounds of Lulworth Castle on the Dorset Coast and is a family friendly event.

Budding ballet dancers dreams came true with loads of fun and lively ballet activities in English National Ballet’s very own tent in the Kid’s Garden. Throughout the weekend members of our Department of Learning provided interactive workshops to huge crowds ranging in age from two to 70!

Angelina Ballerina herself made an appearance in the Big Top Tent performing Act II of Angelina Ballerina’s Big Audition to an audience of thousands. The Big Top was so crowded some had to watch the performance from the big screen outside!

Sunday evening was topped off with the Angelina cast free-styling on the main stage whilst Rob Da Bank played some tunes. The dancers also got to set off the amazing firework display over Lulworth Castle.

English National Ballet’s photographer, David Jensen, took some wonderful photos throughout the weekend which you can see here.

A colouring competition was also run over the weekend of the festival and the winning entries can be seen below. The winners will each win two tickets to one of our performances.

Look out for us on the main stage at Bestival, Isle if Wight on Sunday 13 September. Soloist Jenna Lee has choreographed a new piece inspired by the festival’s theme - Space Odyssey.
