Cinderella

Happy Birthday English National Ballet

English National Ballet celebrates 60 years of dance excellence in 2010, with five of the world’s favourite classical ballets; Mary Skeaping’s hauntingly beautiful production of Giselle visits Glasgow and Woking, Michael Corder’s multi awarding-winning Cinderella opens in Bristol, travels overseas to Seville then visits Manchester and Southampton before arriving at the London Coliseum in August, we revive Derek Deane’s breathtaking Swan Lake in-the-round at the Royal Albert Hall in June featuring 60 swans and a full Company of 120, Nureyev’s powerfully romantic Romeo & Juliet tours to Manchester, Southampton and Milton Keynes, and a new production of family favourite The Nutcracker from Wayne Eagling will be premiered at the London Coliseum in December.

English National Ballet’s first official performance was on 14 August 1950. 60 years on English National Ballet is recognised as Britain’s largest touring ballet Company with 67 dancers and a live orchestra. Founded by two of the greatest British dancers of all time, Alicia Markova and Anton Dolin, English National Ballet acts as a cultural ambassador for the nation and performs full scale productions throughout the UK, Europe, and across the world, at a price everyone can afford.
